Recognizing and highlighting the dedicated efforts of teachers and staff in schools is paramount to fostering a positive and encouraging educational environment. Why don’t we see more of this? Time? A directive from the top down? A school website is an excellent platform to showcase their hard work and commitment. By featuring teacher profiles, success stories, and accomplishments, the website becomes a virtual space that celebrates and acknowledges the contributions of educators and staff. This boosts morale and instills pride and motivation within the school community.
Moreover, publicly highlighting their efforts can inspire a culture of appreciation and respect for the vital work teachers do to support our students. This creates a ripple effect, encouraging a collaborative and supportive atmosphere that benefits educators and students alike.

As part of ongoing efforts to enhance communication across all stakeholders, Groton-Dunstable’s Senior Leadership Team (SLT) explored the intricacies of the school’s Apptegy website platform. The team, including dedicated principals and district administrators, held a comprehensive session to learn about the school’s digital platform and best communication practices.
During Friday’s workshop, the team learned about the website’s features, including its user-friendly interface and interactive tools designed to foster better engagement with parents, students, and the wider community.
Assistant Superintendent of Schools Kristin Defrancisco facilitated the session, which provided a hands-on experience that allowed leaders to navigate the website’s sections and understand how to leverage its potential for effective communication.
Enthusiastic about the initiative, Florence Roche Elementary principal Brian O’Donaghue highlighted, “We had a blast this morning during our leadership meeting competing in a website challenge! Thanks to Luke and Kristin for creating this fun and engaging activity to help us all familiarize ourselves with our district website.”
