Recognizing and highlighting the dedicated efforts of teachers and staff in schools is paramount to fostering a positive and encouraging educational environment. Why don’t we see more of this? Time? A directive from the top down? A school website is an excellent platform to showcase their hard work and commitment. By featuring teacher profiles, success stories, and accomplishments, the website becomes a virtual space where the contributions of educators and staff are celebrated and acknowledged. This boosts morale and instills a sense of pride and motivation within the school community.
Moreover, publicly highlighting their efforts can inspire a culture of appreciation and respect for teachers’ and staff’s vital work. It creates a ripple effect, encouraging a collaborative and supportive atmosphere that benefits educators and students alike.

In a continued move toward enhancing communication across all stakeholders, Groton-Dunstable’s Senior Leadership Team (SLT) delved into the intricacies of the school’s website platform from Apptegy. The team, including dedicated principals and district administrators, engaged in a comprehensive session to gain insights into the school’s digital platform and best communication practices.
During Friday’s workshop, the team learned about the various features of the website, exploring its user-friendly interface and interactive tools designed to foster better engagement with parents, students, and the wider community.
The session, facilitated by Assistant Superintendent of Schools Kristin Defrancisco, provided a hands-on experience, allowing the leaders to navigate the website’s different sections and understand how to leverage its potential for effective communication.
Enthusiastic about the initiative, Florence Roche Elementary principal Brian O’Donaghue highlighted, “We had a blast this morning during our leadership meeting competing in a website challenge! Thanks to Luke and Kristin for creating this fun and engaging activity to help us all familiarize ourselves with our district website.”
