Shealagh’s First Take Home Project

My daughter Shealagh Muriel worked hard on a take-home, independent project in her first-grade class. She worked on a mixture of digital and colored-pencil drawings and brought them into an iPad app called Book Creator. She then applied a voice over for the video. We saved the project into three formats, which can all be viewed below.

Groton-Dunstable End of Year Wrap for Technology

With the adoption of our five-year Strategic Technology Plan by School Committee this past June, the Educational Technology Department, in conjunction with teachers, administration, and the community, created a plan, serving as a roadmap for integrating digital learning. The Educational Technology Department continues to believe that technology will transform learning when it’s used in alignment with rigorous curriculum standards. Integrating educational technology into classrooms and lessons is essential to providing quality education and we continue to support this idea.  Read more…

Living Room Feature Wall

Recently I stepped out of my comfort zone, a concept and process I frequently ask teachers to tackle with technology, and created a feature wall. With the help of my father and brother-in-law, we were able to completely change an ordinary wall into a “feature wall”.

If I had undertaken this project on my own, it would have been a disaster. However, when you have skilled folks available (think technology integration specialists in your building), a project on your own can take off and can be accomplished…look at the results!  Read more…

A Wrap to the Technology Strategic Plan

After 10-months, the Groton-Dunstable Regional School District’s Strategic Technology Plan has been presented to the school committee and is now complete. Our technology plan is a strong, one that will provide a guide for the district through the 2021-2022 school year.
